THE SHORT VERSION
Our verdict
The AT218 is a band-focused choice for a receiver and listening target that both make use of 800 MHz. The key buying trap is confusing a connector fit with a usable radio combination. Uniden's accessory page lists the BC125AT, but that scanner does not cover the 800 MHz band. Attaching this antenna would not add that coverage. Start with the receiver's frequency and system specifications, then evaluate the antenna. This makes it a conditional accessory choice rather than a general upgrade for every inexpensive handheld.

Fit and function
Uniden describes AT218 as a flexible BNC antenna tuned for 800 MHz. Its product list includes the BCD325P2, among other physically compatible models. The frequency-coverage limitation must be checked against the scanner manual, not inferred from the accessory compatibility list.
The buying decision
Write down the actual frequencies of the system you intend to monitor. A recommendation that merely says digital or police does not identify the band. If your scanning list includes several very different bands, weigh whether a focused antenna fits the mix or should be kept as a second option. Compare it with your present antenna under the same conditions. Neither its tuning nor its connector can overcome unsupported decoding, encryption, an incorrectly programmed system or a receiver outside its specified coverage.
